Across policy, regulation and service delivery, we repeatedly see the same pattern:

• information is often spread across spreadsheets, documents, systems and external datasets — making it difficult to connect, explain and use over time

Wallscope was founded to address this problem directly.

Where we started

From the outset, our focus was not on building isolated applications or one‑off dashboards. Instead, we focused on structuring information itself — so it can be understood, connected and reused. Our early work — including delivery through the Scottish Government’s CivTech programme — tested this approach in real public sector environments and shaped our focus on usability and practical application.

As data volumes have grown and expectations around AI use have increased, this foundation has become more important. Automation is only as reliable as the information beneath it.

How we think: clarity before automation

Our work sits between decision-makers and technical teams. We help ensure that data structures, systems and workflows support real organisational needs. This allows technical solutions to be aligned with how organisations actually operate — so that data can be used consistently in practice.

How this works in practice

This approach allows data from different systems to be connected and used together in real operational work. It also ensures that information is captured in a consistent way from the start — reducing duplication and making it easier to interpret and reuse over time.

On top of this foundation, we design and deliver platforms that support real operational needs, including:

• structured workflows and case-based processes
• consistent data capture
• integration across systems and datasets
• flexible analysis and reporting

Our platforms are deployed on UK‑based AWS infrastructure and secured using tiered, role‑based access controls, allowing responsibilities and permissions to be managed across users, teams and organisations while maintaining appropriate governance.

We have developed systems with case‑management functionality for Public Health Scotland and Eildon Housing Association, and are currently working with Dumfries and Galloway Council to develop a Poverty Dashboard that brings together multiple datasets into a shared analytical view.

Why this matters

In many organisations, especially those working on complex challenges, insight is generated through programmes, projects and collaboration — but it rarely carries forward. Learning is captured in reports, presentations or individual teams, becoming fragmented again as work moves into delivery.
